Also FYI, currently, the State of Arizona outlaws texting and driving, but only for new drivers. Locally, however, Oro Valley, Pima County and the City of Tucson have enacted more stringent rules. in both Oro Valley and Pima County, texting while driving is considered a primary offence – you can be stopped solely for texting while driving. Currently, in the City of Tucson, texting while driving is a secondary offence, meaning you can only be cited if you are stopped for another reason.

Reasons or not, texting and driving, or driving while trying to do any other activity (distracted driving) is dangerous. Don’t worry primarily about citations, worry primarily about staying focused on the task at hand – Drive Alive.
