The Chapter holds its regular luncheon meeting on the second Tuesday of each month except for July, August, November, February, and May. The regular luncheon meetings are held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Kino Community Center, 2805 East Ajo Way, Tucson, Arizona. Each meeting consists of a technical session, an opportunity to network and lunch. The cost is $10.00 for the lunch.
Our ASSE chapter joins with the Southern Arizona Safety Council (SASC) for combined meetings four times a year. The SASC meetings are held in the Training Room at Granite Construction Company, 4115 East Illinois, Tuscon, Arizona. The meeting begins at 8:30am and ends at noon. In the 2007/2008 chapter year, meeting dates are August 21 and November 20, 2007 then February 19 and May 20, 2008.
Three of our chapter members, Dave Baker, Jerry Coley and Brandy Kadous were instrumental in getting the SASC off the ground. The SASC brings together safety personnel from numerous industries. Members of the SASC include the City of Tucson, Tucson Electric Power, Arizona's G&T Cooperatives, the Tucson Airport Authority, Arizona Builders Alliance, Tucson Utilities Contractors Association and the Southwest Training Alliance.
There is no cost for this meeting. Each of the meetings has a different key topic and one that applies to a wide range of industry. Regular agenda items include training announcements, a round table discussion and an update from the Arizona Department of Occupational Safety and Health.
